“He lies in wait near the villages.
From ambushes, he murders the innocent.
His eyes are secretly set against the helpless.” – Psalms 10:8
When I read this verse, I picture a predator lurking in the shadows, waiting for the moment to strike.
Psalm 10:8 reveals a stark reality of the world, where the innocent and helpless often become targets for those who exploit their vulnerability. It serves as a reminder to remain vigilant against the injustices that occur around us, urging us to have compassion for those who are oppressed. As Christians, we are called to be defenders of the weak, actively standing up against wrongdoing and offering support to those in need, reflecting Christ’s love and justice in a broken world.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to recognize the injustices in my surroundings and give me the courage to speak up for those who cannot defend themselves. May I be a beacon of Your love and protection for the vulnerable. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
