Daily Devotional – 1 Corinthians 4:19 – May 16, 2025

“But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord is willing. And I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power.” – 1 Corinthians 4:19

When I read this verse, I envision a steadfast leader returning to his community, eager to witness the genuine faith and spiritual power at work among them, rather than mere words and empty boasts.

1 Corinthians 4:19 reminds us that true power in the Christian life is not found in eloquent speech or inflated egos, but in the transformative work of the Holy Spirit. Paul emphasizes the importance of living out our faith in authenticity and humility. As Christians, we are called to seek the Lord’s presence in our lives, allowing His power to shape our actions and influence our communities.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help us to rely not on our own understanding or persuasive words, but on Your power working through us. May our lives reflect Your truth and authenticity as we seek to honor You in all that we do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
