Daily Devotional – Amos 5:21 – April 27, 2025

“I hate, I despise your feasts,
and I can’t stand your solemn assemblies.” – Amos 5:21

When I read this verse, I envision a gathering of people focused on ritual and tradition rather than on genuine worship and connection with God.

**Amos 5:21** expresses God’s disdain for empty religious practices that lack sincerity and true devotion. He seeks a heart alignment with His will rather than mere outward displays of faith. As Christians, we should examine our own worship practices, ensuring that our gatherings are filled with authenticity and a desire for a deeper relationship with God, rather than just fulfilling obligations.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to approach You with a sincere heart, prioritizing genuine worship over mere tradition. May my gatherings with fellow believers be filled with love, authenticity, and a true desire to honor You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
