Daily Devotional – 2 Chronicles 1:17 – April 11, 2025

“They brought up and brought out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred pieces of silver, and a horse for one hundred fifty. They also exported them to the Hittite kings and the Syrian kings.” – 2 Chronicles 1:17

When I read this verse, I imagine the bustling markets of ancient kingdoms, where the exchange of valuable goods was a sign of prosperity and strength.

2 Chronicles 1:17 reminds us of the wealth and resources that were once accumulated by the kings of Israel, showcasing their influence and power through trade. This verse can serve as a reminder to Christians today about the importance of stewardship and the responsible use of the resources God has provided us. Just as these goods were used to benefit kingdoms, we are called to use our blessings to serve others and further God’s kingdom on earth.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to be a good steward of the resources You have entrusted to me. May I use my talents, time, and treasures to glorify You and serve others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
