Daily Devotional – Numbers 11:28 – March 04, 2025

“Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered, “My lord Moses, forbid them!”” – Numbers 11:28

When I read this verse, I picture Joshua’s passionate loyalty and concern for the integrity of Moses’ leadership among the people of Israel. Numbers 11:28 reminds us of the importance of standing up for those we respect and the authority they hold, as Joshua did for Moses in a moment of potential division. This highlights the need for unity and support in our communities, especially when faced with challenges or dissent.

Joshua’s response shows that he understood the significance of Moses’ role and the impact of the Holy Spirit working through him. As Christians, we can apply this by being advocates for our leaders in faith, supporting them in prayer and encouragement, and also ensuring that we protect the unity of the body of Christ against division and strife. We are called to be servants and supporters of one another, fostering an environment where God’s work can flourish.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to be a faithful supporter of those You have placed in positions of leadership and authority. May I strive to maintain unity and encourage my brothers and sisters in Christ as we work together for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
