“When all who knew him before saw that, behold, he prophesied with the prophets, then the people said to one another, “What is this that has come to the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?”” – 1 Samuel 10:11
When I read this verse, I imagine the astonishment of the people witnessing a transformation in someone they thought they knew so well. Saul, a man destined for greatness, surprises everyone by prophesying alongside the prophets, showcasing how God can change hearts and lives in unexpected ways.
1 Samuel 10:11 reminds us that God can take an ordinary person and set them apart for His extraordinary purposes. Just as Saul’s actions left people questioning what had come over him, our lives can also reflect the transformative power of God’s Spirit, prompting others to wonder about the changes they see in us. As Christians, we should embrace the idea that God can work through us, leading us to fulfill His plans, even in ways we may not anticipate.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for the power of transformation that comes from knowing You. Help me to be open to Your work in my life, so that others may see Your glory through my actions. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
