“Now Yahweh said to Abram, “Leave your country, and your relatives, and your father’s house, and go to the land that I will show you.” – Genesis 12:1
When I read this verse, I picture Abram standing at the crossroads of his life, filled with uncertainty yet ready to embrace the unknown.
Genesis 12:1 reminds us of God’s call to step out of our comfort zones and into His divine plan. Just as Abram was asked to leave what was familiar, we too must be willing to let go of attachments that hold us back from following God’s purpose. In our lives, this means being open to change, trusting that God has a better path laid out for us, even when we cannot see it clearly.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to trust You as I step out in faith, leaving behind what is familiar for the journey You have planned for me. Give me the courage to follow Your leading and the wisdom to recognize Your voice. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
